Radon gas is a highly radioactive colour- and odorless gas that occurs naturally in the soil. It seeps from the ground into buildings accumulating in the basement and lower floors. Concentrated radon gas in enclosed places is a serious hazard to human health. The international scientific community recognises the inhalation of radon gas as dangerous and it is known to be the second cause of lung cancer after cigarette smoke.
